Registered Dental Hygienist
Charlotte Hughes is a board licensed Registered Dental Hygienist who has found a love and professional outlet to develop her eagerness for consideration of comprehensive patient care while having an opportunity to build interpersonal relationships.
She started her education into dentistry as a dental hygiene student in Mississippi and graduated in 2010. This pursuit was inspired by her mother’s struggle with gum disease. In addition to providing clinical care, she completed her BS in biological sciences at Mississippi State University in 2015. While a student, she lead international medical mission trips, created a pilot program to teach nursing home staff dental hygiene techniques to care for their in residence patients, and was on the board of the Mississippi Dental Hygiene Association. Upon graduation, she moved to Germany for a professional experience as a dental hygiene clinician serving the military families and auxiliary employees. She worked as the Secretary of the European Association of Registered Dental Hygienist from 2016-2020.
Her work with the military population taught her about varied backgrounds that influence people’s health, health IQ, and the grave importance of teaching to communicate to each person’s ability to understand.
She has also expanded her education to include the use of local anesthesia, ozone, and phase contrast microscopy.
With the education she already possess as an experienced hygienist, she continues to grow in knowledge and builds on the foundation that include advanced nonsurgical protocols and microbiological techniques.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and art projects, the love of cooking, learning the interplay between how people and things work, and being a mother and wife to her husband Jon and their daughter Juliane.
